Studio Job - Archives Wallpaper

Studio Job was founded in 1998 by Job Smeets in the renaissance spirit, combining traditional and modern techniques to produce once-in-a-lifetime objects. At once highly specific and yet entirely universal, personally expressive and yet experimental, Studio Job has crafted a body of work that draws upon classical, popular and contemporary design and highly visual and sculptural art.

Once upon a time...

“…there was a roll of empty paper, desperately in need of color and composition. Deeply moved by the Withered Flowers stage set that Studio Job designed for Viktor & Rolf’s Fall Winter 2013 Collection, Rick Vintage of NLXL gave Studio Job a call.

Fifty different patterns made from motifs out of the Studio Job archives were carefully reduced to seven that made the transition into wallpaper. But then again, maybe the term ‘wallpaper’ doesn’t do these 9 meter long compositions justice. Judge for yourself and then perhaps try them at home.”
